Primavera P6 Planner (Contract)
Ipswich / Suffolk | Hybrid Working | £550 per day (Outside IR35)
The Opportunity
We are supporting a major UK nuclear new build programme in Suffolk and are seeking an experienced Primavera P6 Planner to join a high-performing project controls team on a long-term contract basis.
This role sits within a globally recognised nuclear engineering organisation delivering complex engineering, installation, and systems integration works across one of the UK’s most significant energy infrastructure programmes.
You will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and analysing detailed project schedules, ensuring robust planning controls are in place to support safe, efficient, and predictable project delivery.
About the Programme
This is part of a nationally significant nuclear new build project in the UK, focused on delivering secure, low-carbon energy infrastructure for the future.
The programme involves large-scale engineering works, multi-disciplinary coordination, and highly regulated delivery environments requiring strong planning discipline, schedule integrity, and stakeholder alignment.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.

Build and manage fully logic-linked, resource and activity-driven programmes.

Support baseline development, progress updates, and schedule control throughout the project lifecycle.

Conduct critical path analysis and identify key schedule risks and opportunities.

Produce regular planning reports, progress dashboards, and schedule performance updates.

Support change impact assessments and evaluate the time implications of project variations.

Ensure compliance with programme governance and reporting standards.

Work closely with engineering, delivery, and commercial teams to ensure alignment of schedules and execution plans.

Provide schedule assurance and challenge contractor and subcontractor programmes where required.

Support integration of multi-package schedules into the wider project programme.
About You
We are looking for professionals who can demonstrate:

Strong experience as a Project Planner or Planning Engineer within major infrastructure or energy programmes.

Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.

Experience working within regulated environments such as nuclear, energy, defence, or large-scale infrastructure.

Strong understanding of critical path analysis, scheduling techniques, and project controls principles.

Ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary schedules.

Strong communication skills and ability to engage with technical and delivery stakeholders.

Experience supporting large capital projects or new build programmes is highly desirable.
