Position Summary
We are seeking a Planning Engineer on behalf of our client to support project planning and controls activities. The successful candidate will develop, maintain and report on integrated schedules, support risk and change processes as required, and work closely with project teams to ensure timely delivery and transparent progress reporting. This role requires strong technical planning skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using Primavera P6 (or equivalent).

Create baseline and rolling-wave schedules; manage schedule logic, constraints, and resource/cost loading where required.

Produce schedule reports and dashboards for project leadership and stakeholders.

Monitor schedule performance, identify critical path impacts, and recommend mitigation measures.

Support change control and claims preparation by providing schedule analysis and time impact assessments.

Collaborate with construction, engineering and commercial teams to integrate workstreams and ensure alignment between programme and execution plans.

Assist in risk and opportunity quantification tied to schedule outcomes.

Maintain document control of planning deliverables and ensure schedule integrity across revisions.

Provide training and mentorship to junior planning staff when required.
Experience & Skills

Proven experience as a Planning Engineer or similar role within Project Controls.

Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 (or equivalent scheduling tools).

Solid understanding of schedule development techniques, critical path analysis, resource/cost loading and time impact analysis.

Ability to produce clear schedule reports and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple schedule streams.

Experience with change control and claims support is advantageous.

Familiarity with project delivery environments (construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects) preferred.
Salary: £45,000 - £75,000 GBP
