PACE Global is supporting Movar Reply in the search for an experienced Senior Cost Engineer to join the delivery team on one of Europe's most exciting megaprojects.

You'll be working with Stegra , the company building the world's first large-scale green steel plant, helping transform one of the highest carbon-emitting industries into one of the cleanest.

The Opportunity

As Senior Cost Engineer, you'll be responsible for establishing, maintaining and controlling project costs across a major industrial programme.

Working alongside Project Controls, Planning, Commercial and Project Management teams, you'll provide accurate cost reporting, forecasting and financial insight that enables informed project decisions.

You'll play a key role in ensuring the programme is delivered safely, efficiently and within approved budgets.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project cost control systems and processes.

  • Monitor project budgets, commitments, actual costs and forecasts.

  • Produce accurate cost reports for project leadership and stakeholders.

  • Analyse cost performance and identify trends, risks and opportunities.

  • Prepare Estimate at Completion (EAC) and cost forecasting.

  • Support change management and assess cost impacts.

  • Work closely with Planning teams to integrate cost and schedule performance.

  • Review contractor applications, commitments and expenditure.

  • Participate in project reviews and governance meetings.

  • Ensure compliance with project controls standards and reporting requirements.

  • Drive continuous improvement within cost management processes.


About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys working in complex project environments and can provide clear financial insight to support project delivery.

You'll ideally have:

  • Significant experience as a Cost Engineer on large capital projects.

  • Background within sectors such as:

    • Energy

    • Infrastructure

    • Heavy Industrial

    • Manufacturing

    • Mining

    • Oil & Gas

    • Chemicals

    • Nuclear

    • Data Centres

  • Strong understanding of project controls principles.

  • Experience with cost forecasting and earned value techniques.

  • Ability to analyse large volumes of project data.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.

  • Advanced Excel skills.

  • Experience using cost management systems such as SAP, EcoSys, PRISM, Cobra, CostOS or similar.

  • Excellent written and verbal English.


Desirable

  • Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Finance or similar.

  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM).

  • Experience working on EPC or EPCM projects.

  • Experience within international project environments.

  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 reporting integration.
